September 2016 | MONTH IN REVIEW

Here's a quick summary of what we were up to this month.  We travelled a lot! Finally made our way back to Raptor in Trinidad after leaving her at the boatyard for 16 months.  We spent a total of 26.5 hours flying from Melbourne to Sydney, Sydney to Los Angeles, San Francisco to Chicago, Chicago to New York and finally New York to Trinidad & Tobago. Back Again in Chaguaramas, Trinidad

We're finally back in Trinidad after being away for 16 months! Mold, mold, mold everywhere! The dinghy, the ropes, the shade cloths, the fenders, the sails! You name it, it's on it! If we knew we would be away for this long, we would have taken down the sails and kept away the ropes, fenders, shade cloths. Groupon Our Travel Buddy

If you are budget travelers like us, you might want to have Groupon as your "travel buddy" too. With the US dollar at an all time high ($1 USD ~ $1.40 AUD/SGD), we knew it would be too expensive for us to have meals in restaurants on our 3½ weeks trip in the US. So what did we do? Chicago - The Windy City

We flew into Chicago on 19th September 2016 from San Francisco and spent 3 nights in the windy city. The 3rd most populous city in the US (after New York and Los Angeles). It was our first time in Chicago. Our airbnb accommodation was very conveniently located in between the airport and the city on the blue line, near Logan Square station.  The public transportation system in Chicago is much like New York.
