October 2016 | MONTH IN REVIEW

Here's a quick summary of what we were up to this month. We settled back in, living aboard in a boatyard again. It's back to basics -- hot & humid days with no air-conditioning and cold showers. After leaving the boat for such a long period of time it was inevitable that we'd have lots to clean -- dust & mold everywhere!  We re-gassed our Waeco fridge, replaced the drawer sliders in the galley, replaced the switch on the wash down pump, replaced the latches on the main door with stainless steel ones, installed a fan in...

Raptor Turns TWENTY!

Happy Birthday Raptor! So busy we almost forgot! Raptor celebrates her 20th birthday in Power Boats, Trinidad. She was designed and built in 1996 by John Goss in his Fastback factory in Thornlands, Queensland, just south of Brisbane, Australia.  Only eight of these 'Fastback 43s' catamarans were ever built {we were the 5th}. We're not entirely sure why only eight though.. while there were more than fifty 'Fastback 30' and 'Fastback 32' built in that same factory.
